PivotConflict Lab

Conflict is an inevitable part of bringing people together to work on a shared project or make a decision — regardless of how straightforward or complex the issue may be. The danger lies in allowing conflict to escalate or go untended.

When you understand what is driving the tension, there are practical ways to work with it before it becomes entrenched.

The PivotConflict Lab is an immersive, hands-on experience exploring constructive dissent and how differences and disagreement can become an asset rather than an obstacle.

We move quickly from theory to practice, using real-world scenarios, role-play and fast iterations that require you to think on your feet. You’ll explore how to manage yourself under pressure, frame better questions and respond effectively when conversations become difficult.

The Lab equips participants to:

  • identify the underlying drivers of disagreement, emotion and outrage
  • communicate transparently, even when the stakes are high
  • engage with fairness, confidence and emotional agility
  • make better decisions and design strategies that reduce the likelihood of conflict escalating
  • respond effectively when faced with an upset community, committee or stakeholder.

Whether you’re managing a project from its earliest stages through to delivery, working with an advisory committee, or navigating complex policy and stakeholder environments, the PivotConflict Lab will help you work more effectively with people, communities and competing perspectives.
